Nicole Ari Parker (born Nicole Ari Parker) is an American actress, who is employed in the fields of film, television and the theatre. Her most well-known role is Teri Joe the fiery lawyer on her role on the Showtime series Soul Food. She is now known by her husband's name, Nikki Kodjoe. While growing up in Baltimore, Maryland, she was always intrigued by acting. When she participated in the Maryland high school event in her early years of training, she was awarded the title for best actress. The path to acting began when she joined the Washington Ballet Company and theater. The first role she played on screen in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love brought her immense respect. Later came films such as 'Boogie Nights Spark & Blue Streak. Soul Food was an immensely well-loved TV show. She also appeared in TV shows like Second Time Around' and Empire. In the beginning of her career, she appeared in numerous stage productions. Parker, a politician who plays an active part in the fashion world and acting, is currently married to Boris Kodjoe. The couple has two children.
Contractor, a Mumbai-born Indian, who lived in Nigeria at the age of was seven years old. had a lot of knowledge about different cultures around the world and was able to travel at such a young stage. Her education was at the boarding school of London between 7 and 9 years. Her family later was relocated from London and moved to Toronto, Canada. When she was in Toronto, Contractor excelled in academics and became a classical ballerina. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts in Toronto, a fine arts institution which focuses on theatre and dance. Contractor took the decision to study acting seriously at age of 16, after ten years dancing. As soon as she finished her high school education, she was awarded an all-inclusive scholarship to the University of Toronto. At the University of Toronto she completed a Masters in Theatre and was also a double major in Psychology and Sociology. Contractor auditioned at the prestigious Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada, for Pericles. After one full year, she was given the leading role. In 2002, Canadian theater critics were awed by her performance in 92 performances of Pericles. The conservatory in Stratford accepts eight men as well as four females along with a couple of additional people to take a 20 weeks of crash courses. Contractor's participation in the next season's production was confirmed. She got the part of Hermia from A Midsummer Night's Dream.
